The Liberator Got the Shakes
Posted by Marcin
As mentioned in the previous post, a soil-grate shaker is necessary to help tractor-loader buckets of soil fall through the 3/4 inch spacing of the grate on the CEB machine, The Liberator. Welcome to the open source vibrator:

It shook the work table up quite a bit when tested. It consists of a small, 600 rpm hydrauilic motor, and a 6 lb eccentric hammer attached firmly via 2 pillow block bearings. When attached to the CEB soil grate, it did a good job of shaking:

When a bucket of soil was loaded with the Pulverizer-Loader, small soil particles were shaken through:

The end product was that eventually, the fine soil particles went through, and all the larger clods shook off the front of the soil grate (3/4″ expanded metal):

Looks great, but you should definitely put in place a guard to protect users from the vibrating mechanism!
